Epic Data Releases Latest Version of Shop Floor Kiosk for Manufacturing Visibility and Data Collection – Epic Data MPT 9600 Shop Floor Kiosk

VANCOUVER, B.C. — Epic Data International Inc. (TSX-V: EKD), a provider of manufacturing collaboration and visibility solutions, data collection devices, and material management applications today announced its next generation shop floor kiosk - Epic Data Multi Purpose Terminal (MPT) 9600 Shop Floor Kiosk. The industrial-strength MPT 9600 collects and delivers critical information to shop floor users with a large, bright, high resolution 12-inch LCD touch screen. The MPT 9600 provides a forward migration path for existing customers and adds to Epic Data's manufacturing visibility solutions for all discrete manufacturers.

The MPT 9600 is a rugged, fanless, diskless computer, which features a large, 12-inch LCD monitor with an integrated touch screen. Shop floor dust significantly reduces the lifetime of desktop PCs as their internal fans deposit harmful elements on the internal circuitry or the intake clogs, causing the PC to overheat. The MPT 9600 solves these issues and eliminates circuit exposure to harsh elements, dust and heating concerns. The solid state memory in the MPT 9600 eliminates hard disk drive failures common to desktop PCs or less rugged shop floor kiosks. A Wi-Fi version is also available for wireless connectivity. Advanced security features integrated into the MPT 9600 meet the access control and IT security requirements mandated by the most stringent department of defense contractor facilities and equipment.
